May 30-31, the national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone site will be held. The meeting released the 2022 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive test area (hereinafter referred to as comprehensive test area) assessment and evaluation results, summarize and exchange the effectiveness of the work of the comprehensive test area and experience and practices, analysis of the current situation facing the development of cross-border e-commerce, research and deployment of key work in 2023.

The meeting stressed that the Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the development of new forms of foreign trade, repeatedly deployed to promote the development of cross-border e-commerce work.

Cross-border e-commerce development speed, market potential, strong driving force, to match supply and demand at low cost and high efficiency, to provide personalized quality services for more enterprises and end consumers.

The meeting pointed out that in recent years, the development of cross-border e-commerce has made welcome progress. The Ministry of Commerce in conjunction with relevant departments, in the system, management and services continue to innovate, issued a series of policies and measures to create a good environment for the development of cross-border e-commerce.

The pilot zones continue to promote the construction of “six systems and two platforms”, vigorously cultivate market players, gradually improve the ecology of cross-border e-commerce, drive the optimization and upgrading of local industries, and achieve positive results.

Cross-border e-commerce goods import and export scale accounted for the proportion of foreign trade from less than 1% five years ago to the current 5% or so. China’s cross-border e-commerce entities have exceeded 100,000, the construction of more than 200,000 independent stations, about 690 cross-border e-commerce industrial parks in the comprehensive test area. China’s cross-border e-commerce trade partners around the world, and 29 countries signed bilateral e-commerce cooperation memorandum.

The meeting requested that all regions should seize the opportunity of China’s cross-border e-commerce development, and solidly promote the construction of comprehensive pilot zones to create a new high ground for innovative development of foreign trade.

To promote the digital application of trade, enhance the level of customs clearance and facilitation; sort out mature experience and practices, and hold special training; accelerate the construction of new infrastructure for foreign trade, build cross-border logistics network; optimize the function of online service platform, explore new modes of financial services; actively explore emerging markets, and strengthen international exchange and cooperation.
