Recently, the 2024 National Foreign Trade Work Conference was held in Beijing. The meeting pointed out that in 2023, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the Ministry of Commerce, in close cooperation with various localities and relevant departments, solidly promoted foreign trade to stabilize the scale and optimize the structure of the annual import and export volume of 41.76 trillion yuan, the trade structure continued to optimize the stability of the international market share, and achieved the goal of promoting stability and improving the quality of foreign trade.
The meeting emphasized that we should fully understand the complexity, severity and uncertainty of the current foreign trade situation. To accelerate the development of new quality productivity, in the field of foreign trade focus on expanding trade in intermediate goods, cross-border e-commerce exports, and promote trade digitalization, trade green development. To serve enterprises to expand the market to catch orders, expand imports to protect domestic demand. We should focus on optimizing the trade environment, enhancing the international competitiveness of our enterprises and products, and solidly promoting the high-quality development of trade.
