Statistics from the General Administration of Customs show that in the first five months of this year, China’s import and export of goods increased by 15.3% year-on-year, continuing the steady growth trend.

According to customs statistics, in the first five months of this year, the total import and export value of China’s goods trade was 20.68 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%. Among them, imports and exports to ASEAN, EU and Africa increased by 16.6%, 10.3% and 18.2% respectively; The import and export of countries that jointly built the “Belt and Road” was 10.57 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.6%.
In May, China’s foreign trade import and export was 4.45 trillion yuan, up 16.9% year-on-year, of which exports and imports increased by 13.8% and 21.5% respectively.
The Statistics and Analysis Department of the General Administration of Customs said that since the beginning of this year, under the guidance of the diplomatic strategy of the head of state, China has actively deepened pragmatic cooperation with global economic and trade partners, injecting stable forces into international economic and trade operations. As of May, the monthly import and export has exceeded 4 trillion yuan for three consecutive months, maintaining a good operating trend.
This year is the “China Year” of APEC. In the first five months, I imported and exported 12.31 trillion yuan with other APEC economies, up 17.4% year-on-year, accounting for nearly 60% of China’s foreign trade, and Asia-Pacific economic and trade cooperation continued to be active.
